🌎 LingoMix is coming to the Cincinnati Public Library! 🌎

Cincinnati is home to people from all over the world, and LingoMix creates opportunities for people to connect through the languages we speak, the cultures we share, and the stories that bring us together.

Join us at the CHPL’s Downtown Main Library for a special, family-friendly morning of language exchange, cultural discovery, multilingual storytimes, and community building!

This event brings together LingoMix’s signature social language exchange with activities for children and families, creating opportunities for people of all ages to explore the world, discover new perspectives, and make meaningful connections.

Whether you speak multiple languages, are learning your first words in a new language, want to introduce your children to other cultures, or simply enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds, there’s a place for you at LingoMix.

🗣️Adult Language and Cultural Exchange

Our signature LingoMix social is a relaxed, welcoming space to practice languages and meet people from around the world.

Just arrive, pick up flags representing the languages you speak or want to practice, and start conversations with other attendees. No formal lessons, no pressure, and no fluency required!

🗣️ A World of Discovery for Kids & Families

Bring the whole family! Children and teens can explore languages, geography, books, and cultures through our LingoMix Passport Challenge .

Young explorers can pick up a passport and complete fun, self-guided challenges at their own pace. Activities encourage them to talk with people from different backgrounds, discover unfamiliar languages and traditions, explore books, and learn about the wider world.

🛂 Explore with a passport: Take on challenges designed to spark curiosity and encourage real-world cultural discovery. 🌍 Discover languages and cultures: Learn new words, explore traditions, and uncover fascinating facts about places around the world. 📚 Become a book detective: Discover books, stories, and characters connected to different languages and cultures. 🤝 Build connections: Meet new people, ask questions, and discover what makes communities around the world unique. 🎉 Play and explore: Enjoy additional language-themed games and activities along the way.

The passport is designed for different ages and experience levels, so children can choose challenges that interest them and participate at their own pace. Completing every challenge is not required.

Children must remain under the supervision of their parent or guardian throughout the event. This is a family activity, not a drop-off childcare program.

📚 Multilingual Storytimes

The library will also host multilingual storytimes throughout the morning, offering children and families opportunities to enjoy stories in different languages.

Planned storytimes:

🇫🇷 11:00 AM — French 🤟 11:30 AM — English with ASL interpretation 🇸🇦 12:00 PM — Arabic 🇪🇸 1:00 PM — Spanish

Everyone is welcome! LingoMix brings together people across languages, cultures, and generations.

You might be: - Learning a language or looking for opportunities to practice - A native or fluent speaker who enjoys helping others learn - An international student, immigrant, traveler, or longtime Cincinnati resident - A parent or caregiver looking for engaging cultural activities for your children - A child or teen curious about languages, books, geography, and the wider world - Simply someone who enjoys meeting people and discovering new perspectives

You do not need to speak another language to participate. All languages, backgrounds, and experience levels are welcome.
