- ➤ Two drownings occurred over the holiday weekend at East Fork State Park in Bethel as 49-year-old Michael McAffrey was pulled from the water around 4 p.m. Saturday and a 14-year-old boy went missing on Sunday before being found dead around 1 a.m. Monday—officials continue to investigate the incidents and urge water safety. - ➤ Antonio Conrad, 36, died after a crash on the Daniel Carter Beard Bridge when a car struck him while he was helping push a disabled vehicle on I-471 at about 3:40 a.m. on Sunday — a car passenger sustained a spinal cord injury and the disabled vehicle driver suffered minor injuries. WLWT
