  • Kings Island will host Kickin' it with Ken (Saturday, Apr. 18) as it opens to welcome local visitors for a family-friendly event.  FOX 19 Now
  • Nominations are open for the third annual Cincy Serves awards, honoring local difference makers who will each receive $5,300 to donate to a charity of their choosing. The Cincinnati Open and Fifth Third Bank will announce the 11 honorees on May 13, and nominations are accepted until April 24.  WLWT
  • Moon Co-op in Oxford won the Best Health Food Store award in the 2026 Best of Butler County and now offers locals a community-owned market with local, sustainable products and bulk healthy options (reducing waste) as it builds a hub for wellness.  Journal-News

  • Allen's Deli and Meat Market in Hamilton was named Best Deli, Best Caterer, Best Buffet and Best Place to Buy Meats in the 2026 Best of Butler County awards. The family-run business (dating back to 1962) is celebrated for its friendly service and quality offerings.  Journal-News
  • Walmart announced it will remodel 18 stores in Ohio this year, including six in Greater Cincinnati, with upgraded layouts, improved technology, and expanded services such as free pharmacy delivery for Walmart+ members. The upgrades are part of efforts to modernize both in-store and digital shopping experiences.  WLWT

  • Hamilton hosts Hamilton Unfolded, a three-day art festival (featuring paper and cardboard art from 18 local artists) that celebrates the city’s papermaking history and supports small businesses on Main Street and downtown, with events running through Saturday.  Local 12 News

  • Gina’s Italian Kitchen and Tavern in Hamilton is the sneak peek winner in the Best of Butler County 2026 contest and winners will be announced online today.  Journal-News

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Hamilton city council approved a Community Reinvestment Area on April 8, letting Mueller Hotel LLC redevelop the Mueller Building (20 High St.) into a Marriott Tribute hotel with 150 rooms, rooftop space and restaurant. Work will start this spring and finish by spring 2028, creating 100 full time jobs.  Journal-News
