Attend Men’s Health Talk II on November 7 at the Holloman Center for Social Justice
Join the conversation for Men’s Health Talk II on Saturday, November 7, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Holloman Center for Social Justice. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. for breakfast. This engaging community event is designed to inform, educate, and empower men to make decisions that support healthier, longer lives.
More than a traditional health seminar, Men’s Health Talk II brings together men ages 18 and older for meaningful conversations about the health issues that impact everyday life. Building on the success of last year’s event, which welcomed more than 80 participants, this year’s program will feature expert conversations with local Black male physicians in an interactive small-table discussion format that encourages open dialogue, questions, and shared experiences.
Participants will have the opportunity to connect directly with healthcare professionals and community leaders while exploring topics such as heart disease, diabetes, prostate cancer, colorectal cancer, mental health, men’s health and wellness, sports-related orthopedic concerns, and the impact of gun violence on individuals, families, and communities.
Special guest speaker Dr. Newby will lead a discussion on cardiovascular disease in Black men, addressing risk factors, prevention strategies, early detection, and practical steps towards improving heart health.
Throughout the morning, attendees will gain valuable insights, learn about available health resources, and engage in conversations focused on prevention, treatment, and overall well-being. Men’s Health Talk II offers a unique opportunity to learn from trusted medical professionals, strengthen health awareness, and take positive steps toward a healthier future.
