About this event

Join the Erlanger Business Council on November 10 from 11:30am - 1:00pm at the DAV for a timely and practical discussion featuring perspectives from small - large size businesses about f inding and keeping the right employees. This continues to be a challenge for businesses of all sizes—but the strategies, resources, and solutions available can look very different depending on an organization’s size and resources.

Schedule: 11:30 AM – Doors Open: Networking & Lunch 11:55 AM – Program begins 1:00 PM – Program ends

Speakers:

Leisa Spears Synder from Atlas Air , joined by an HR/Talent Acquisition professional, will lead a panel discussion on the Job Profile Project , a valuable tool for addressing challenging-to-fill positions and roles with high turnover. The panel will explore what the program is, how businesses can use it, and how it has benefited their organizations. This discussion will be especially valuable for HR professionals and larger employers who may have the resources and capacity to implement more robust workforce development strategies.

Antoine Smith-Rouse from Gateway Community College will bring a small- and medium-sized business perspective, focusing on practical strategies for organizations that may have more limited budgets and resources. His discussion will cover:

• Strategies for hiring the right people when competing for talent with larger employers

• Cost-effective ways to attract and retain employees

• Workforce development and talent attraction/retention resources available to small and mid-sized businesses

• Practical tools and programs businesses may not realize are available to them

• Best practices businesses can implement without making a significant financial investment

Other Panelist:

David Forsyth, Senior Manager – Crew Scheduling, Atlas Air

Laura “Annie” Taylor, Senior Specialist – Talent Acquisition, Atlas Air

By bringing these two perspectives together, this program will provide a well-rounded look at workforce challenges and solutions —offering larger employers deeper resources and strategies while giving smaller businesses practical, actionable ideas they can put to work right away.

Whether you're an HR professional, business owner, hiring manager, or workforce leader, you'll leave with new ideas, resources, and strategies to help your organization find, hire, and retain the talent it needs to succeed.
