  • Hamilton County’s Drug Treatment & Rehabilitation Court hosted a holiday event today for participants meeting 100 days of sobriety. Santa delivered gifts to children while an assistant prosecutor dressed as the Grinch playfully took some presents.  Local 12 News

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Quantum Ink resumed daytime operations Monday at its warehouse on Melton Avenue near the UPS crash site after a 48-day pause, but strict rules force employees to stay on site for 12 hours + adding extra overnight shipping costs. It remains unclear when normal operations will return.  WLWT

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Following community meetings on funding cuts, Superintendent Andrea Blevins and city officials met recently to address declining enrollment in the district, which now serves about 8,200 students. They plan to consolidate programs and adjust spending to maintain quality education & manage predicted deficits.  Journal-News
  • Area school officials reported that ongoing funding challenges in 2025 are set to affect improvements in local public schools next year, with projects planned by Miami University for an arena district, Butler Tech’s new aviation school near Middletown airstrip, and a new sports stadium opening at Badin in west Hamilton.  Journal-News

  • Fairfield firefighters have a new three-year contract starting April 1 that boosts pay, adds vacation days, reduces work hours in the third year, and expands wellness programs + cancer screenings, approved after seven negotiating sessions by city council and the union.  Journal-News

  • Hamilton County Public Health is warning locals after 457 seizures last quarter showed medetomidine, a veterinary sedative mixed with fentanyl, can trigger severe withdrawal needing ICU care (free testing strips are available at SAFE services locations).  The Enquirer
