- ➤ St. Vincent de Paul gave 1,200 meal kits to Hamilton County families on Thursday morning at the Neyer Outreach Center — each kit included ham or turkey, vegetables, canned goods, and cake mix. Hundreds of volunteers, including high school students, helped ensure those in need got a festive dinner. WCPO
- ➤ Social media influencer Heather Savage is joining Furniture Fair to support local residents in need this season (more details about the initiative are expected soon). FOX 19 Now
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A fire at a multi-family home on Brotherton Road left a local family without a home on Monday at about 9 p.m. and caused $200,000 in damage — a GoFundMe has been started to support them. Local 12 News
- ➤ Sun Yue, 36, from Mason drowned at Voice of America MetroPark when he tried to save his dogs from a frozen lake around 8 a.m. Wednesday; first responders recovered his body after a 911 call, and the coroner ruled it an accidental death (neighbors mourn his loss). WLWT
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Local talent will perform the classic radio play of ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21 at High Street United Methodist Church (230 E. High St) as part of the Sanctuary Series co-presented with Springfield Arts Council, with free admission and voluntary donations supporting future shows. Springfield News-Sun

- ➤ On Dec. 18, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost announced a $4.25 million, multistate settlement with Menards over ads promising 11% off — the chain must now include full rebate rules and a one-year submission window, with Ohio receiving $365,000 for its Consumer Protection Enforcement Fund. - ➤ Basil, a 6-month-old Bernedoodle, has joined the Prosecutor’s Office to support victims and jurors and will soon begin certified therapy dog training. The county approved funding for his care (with contributions from donations and a drug forfeiture fund). Local 12 News

- ➤ TriHealth’s psychosocial oncology team has created a support group to help breast cancer patients cope with treatment and depression. Paula Berryman, a survivor who organized small acts of kindness during chemo sessions, said the supportive conversations ease the mental challenges of care. WLWT
