COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Crews in Greater Cincinnati are working 12-hour shifts today to treat roads after heavy snowfall Saturday dropped two to seven inches. Major roads show clear black asphalt while residential streets remain slick, so motorists should take extra caution as temperatures drop & re-freezing is likely.  WLWT
  • Bengals fans will support a holiday gift drive for over 2,100 foster and kinship care children this Sunday at Paycor Stadium and Bengal Jim’s tailgate + donate via QR codes at the entrances. Hamilton County Job and Family Services leads the drive.  Local 12 News
  • The 13th annual Halle-Bration Holiday Market opened Friday and will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at New Vision United Methodist Church in Paddock Hills (with over 60 local vendors offering holiday gifts).  Local 12 News
  • Beech Acres Parenting Center is hosting its Inspire-A-Family program to provide local families with hands-on parenting support (including interactive sessions) in Hamilton. More details about event timing and activities have been announced at the center.  FOX 19 Now

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Multiple school districts are closed today as cold temperatures and wind chills that feel 10 degrees below zero make travel dangerous. Some closures may extend up to four days even though the thermometer will climb to about 22 degrees by afternoon.  WLWT

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City officials have activated an extreme winter weather shelter today to offer residents warmth amid bitter cold — the shelter will provide safe refuge during ongoing severe conditions.  FOX 19 Now

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Voice of America Athletic Complex in West Chester Township will host the MLS Next Academy Regional Qualifier from April 10-13, 2026, drawing 192 teams and generating a $5.1 million economic boost as academy teams from Ohio and nearby states seek a spot in the MLS Cup bracket.  Local 12 News
  • Hamilton County Commissioner Stephanie Dumas questioned the Bengals’ decision to clear snow only from some sections — fans reported seats covered in ice at Paycor Stadium during the Bengals game on Saturday, Dec. 14. Fans said ushers did not clear the ice, so some used plastic containers to scrape seats.  FOX 19 Now
