- ➤ Cincinnati Animal CARE, which runs the Hamilton County shelter, has extended its 99¢ Black Friday adoption event through Sunday—more than 100 dogs and 50 cats were adopted Friday. Shelter Director Meaghan Colville said workers will stay open late to help match families with pets at locations on Colerain and Dane Avenue. WLWT

- ➤ Emergency crews responded to a fire at a College Hill apartment building near Cedar Avenue — Lathrop Avenue on Friday around 5 p.m., and the Cincinnati Fire Department reported no injuries as crews continued their work until 6 p.m. WLWT

- ➤ The Jingle Mingle, one of Butler County’s largest holiday business networking events, will be held next Wednesday at the Liberty Center Foundry from 4-7 p.m.—featuring over 75 vendors, food tastings, DJ ETrayn and a cash bar. Chamber officials said the free event for adults 21 and older will also include an afterparty at the nearby S.O.B Steakhouse—in what is expected to be a lively evening. Journal-News

- ➤ The Middletown Middies football team left Barnitz Stadium Friday afternoon for their first state semifinal game, heading to Dayton's Welcome Stadium — and town businesses and residents have decorated in purple to show their support.
