Good morning, Hamilton. Here's your local news at a glance for Wednesday, the 19th of November.

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Economist Janet Harrah said the regional economy will grow slowly in 2026 with GDP rising about 1.5% and jobs staying flat as trade policy, AI investment and inflation affect spending. She noted that health care is expanding while transportation struggles — factors that low population growth may not overcome — which means the local job market could have both winners and losers.  WVXU

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • City, county and business leaders paused work at The Banks in May to study how to restart the project. A new proposal now calls for two 24-story towers, two 11-story buildings with a hotel and an eight-story building on five empty lots, and it asks for finished underground parking and extra above-ground parking—ideas that echo previous plans for the area.  WVXU
