COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Chef Vitor Abreu, who grew up in foster care, is giving back during National Adoption Month by donating a portion of proceeds from his restaurant each Thursday this month—he uses his own experience to help foster kids feel a sense of belonging. WLWT
- ➤ Next month, Wreaths Across America Day will honor fallen veterans as Hamilton cemeteries host a ceremony to place 1200 wreaths (600 have been placed so far) starting at noon on Saturday, December 13th. Volunteers can donate $17 per wreath to help meet the goal. WLWT
- ➤ Greater Cincinnati Holiday Market returns to the Sharonville Convention Center for its 25th annual event from Nov. 7-9, where over 230 vendors will offer holiday gifts, food, and seasonal fun. Tickets cost $14 per day and will be sold online on a first come first served basis, with shows running from 12:30 p.m.-8 p.m. Friday, 11:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. WLWT
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Today, the Ross Education Association is holding a rally—beginning at 4 p.m. with a press conference at 5 p.m.—outside the district’s central office at 3371 Hamilton-Cleves Road in Ross Twp as 150 teachers seek a fair contract after six months of stalled negotiations. Journal-News
- ➤ Lakota Local Schools had a levy on the ballot on Nov. 4 to cut operating costs by reducing school buildings from 21 to 16—plans include demolishing, renovating and building new schools to improve class sizes and security. The levy would cost about $208 per $100,000 in property value per year if approved and would not start until 2029. WLWT

- ➤ Hamilton County officials said that two Legionnaires' disease cases did not signal a serious outbreak and residents need not worry. Public health director Dr. Steven Feagins noted the county uses a low outbreak threshold and that water at Christ Hospital’s main campus was tested — Legionnaires' disease is not spread from person to person and usually causes only mild symptoms.
