  • Sunday, Oct. 12, the Women Who Rock concert benefit will be held at Belle and the Bear to raise funds for women's health and crisis support in Greater Cincinnati. Local organizers Kathy Laverde and Ceris Christopher will host the all-day event that has raised more than $300,000 over five years (supporting those in need).  WLWT
  • America's River Roots Festival is on its second day, featuring musical and cultural events that draw local fans in Hamilton. Organizers say the festival will continue with more activities and performances through the weekend—celebrating the area's river heritage.  FOX 19 Now

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Voters in Forest Hills will soon decide the future of the Board of Education as five candidates vie for three seats in an election marked by past partisan disputes and divided views on funding and curriculum—each candidate offering plans to refocus the board on students' needs.  WVXU

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Liberty Twp. Fire Department has received a Class Two rating from the Insurance Services Office, which is the second highest score used to set lower insurance premiums and reflect strong emergency services. Chief Ethan Klussman said the rating—maintained for nearly a decade despite delays from COVID-19 evaluations—shows the department’s ongoing dedication to public safety.  Journal-News
