- ➤ Today, Ohio State University experts warn that Boxelder bugs, along with Asian lady beetles and stink bugs, may invade homes as fall sets in southwest Ohio. They advise residents to caulk windows and seal door frames — steps that help lower energy bills and keep bugs out. WLWT
- ➤ Gold Star Chili is teaming with Freestore Foodbank for National Chili Month to give meals to families in need in Greater Cincinnati as community leaders join the Flavor Makers Class of 2025. - ➤ Residents in two large Butler County townships will vote on a school tax bond issue from Lakota schools — a two-part proposal that combines a 4.99-mill bond with a .95-mill tax to build four new K-5 schools and reduce overcrowding — on Nov. 4, with tax collections delayed until Jan. 2029. The change will mean an estimated $93.10 annual increase per $100,000 home, according to district officials. Journal-News

- ➤ Ohio officially banned police arrest and ticket quotas via Senate Bill 114 after lawmakers passed it unanimously this summer — the law ends performance targets tied to promotions and lets officers report quota issues anonymously to the Attorney General's office. WLWT
- ➤ Ohio lawmakers have introduced the Larry Henderson Act to impose stricter penalties—life without parole or the death penalty—for those convicted of killing law enforcement officers and other first responders.
