GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Butler County commissioners approved two measures to lower property taxes next year—one by reducing the inside millage rate and one by matching the state homestead exemption for eligible residents—to save owners about $100 a year on a $100,000 home. The measures will cut roughly $20 million from county revenue but will not affect county services.  WVXU

SPORTS NEWS

  • Baseball's regular season in Ohio will end dramatically as the Cleveland Guardians trail Detroit by one game after a historic rally and the Cincinnati Reds are tied with the New York Mets for the wild card, setting up key contests in the final week of play.  WVXU
