- ➤ Lakota Local School District has a plan worth nearly $600 million that will tear down nine schools and build four new elementary schools if voters in West Chester and Liberty Township vote for a tax hike in November — the plan aims to shift spending from school upkeep to teaching. Treasurer Adam Zink and Superintendent Ashley Whitely shared the details at the West Chester Boys and Girls Club, and if voters reject the bond, the district may try again in May or November 2026 — with new grade 6-12 space set to begin construction in 2026.
