BUSINESS NEWS

  • UAW Local 647 reached a tentative five-year agreement with GE Aerospace that gives extra personal time off, more vacation time, a minimum workforce guarantee and $3500 in cash to offset rising health care costs. The union will vote to ratify the deal later this week — members will continue fulfilling their strike duty until then.  Journal-News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Tariffs and market uncertainty raised the cost by more than $33M for a new pump station at Mill Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant, and the Metropolitan Sewer District may raise rates a little to help cover the expense—moves that aim to meet Clean Water Act rules.  WVXU
  • Butler County commissioners plan to propose property tax breaks after the state did not provide relief—reviewing options like the piggyback measure that doubles the Homestead exemption and a rollback of inside millage to help over 100,000 homeowners. They will present full figures soon as they await the state tax working group's recommendations by Sept. 30.  WCPO

  • Eligible Ohio residents can now get COVID shots if they meet the criteria as the FDA approved the 2025-2026 vaccine for people 65 and older or those with high risk conditions—Hart Pharmacy is offering the vaccine without a prescription when patients complete a consent form.  WVXU
