ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Corrections Officer Megan Holland rescued a woman with severe burns and her dog from a burning home on Coralie Street after noticing thick black smoke on her drive home from an overnight shift—neighbors helped when she called 911.  Local 12 News

CRIME NEWS

  • Six suspects involved in a downtown brawl have been indicted on eight charges each—including three counts of felonious assault and two counts of aggravated riot—that could result in up to 29.5 years in prison if convicted; five have appeared in court while one suspect is still being transported from Fulton County.  WLWT
  • Two Middletown men were arrested and charged with crimes after police found the body of 28-year-old Brittany Fuhr-Storms—who was pregnant—in a plastic tote on Fort Anthony Road in Jackson Township on August 3.  WCPO

EDUCATION NEWS

  • School districts in our area have introduced new programs to help neurodivergent students learn better. The plans will offer tailored schedules—such as small group instruction and personalized learning strategies—for students who need extra support.  FOX 19 Now

  • Trustees removed age and rental restrictions from Heritage Spring Cottages in Liberty Twp at the request of landowner Dilip Bearelly—eight cottages on Course View Drive can now be leased or sold to anyone.
