  • Several Butler County police agencies will join the annual Touch A Truck event at the Bridgewater Falls shopping center off Princeton Road on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.—local departments will showcase vehicles, equipment, and interactive displays to help kids learn about safety and first responders.  Journal-News

  • Hamilton County prosecutors charged 39-year-old Jermaine Matthews with new felonious and misdemeanor assault counts for allegedly ambushing and attacking victims during a downtown Cincinnati brawl; his bond was set at $100,000 and his lawyer contends he was hit first+ the case is set for grand jury review on Aug. 8.  FOX 19 Now

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Fairfield Schools will host their biggest community party on Saturday at Crossroads Middle School to celebrate the new school year by offering activities like a bouncy house, face painting, and sports stations — families will also receive over 1,800 backpacks, school supplies and 1,000 bags of groceries while translators assist with school forms and new bus app information is shared. Students with last names A–L will begin classes on August 11 and those with M–Z on August 12, with everyone returning on August 13.  Journal-News
