  • Procter and Gamble in Cincinnati announced it will cut 7,000 white-collar jobs over the next two years to boost its growth plan amid difficult economic times. The company also said veteran Shailesh Jejurikar will become CEO in January—though it remains unclear how many local workers will be affected.  WLWT

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Ohio will hold its back-to-school sales tax holiday from Aug. 1 at 12 a.m. through Aug. 14 at 11:59 p.m., letting shoppers buy eligible items priced at $500 or less online or in-person. The tax break does not cover motor vehicles, watercraft requiring titling, alcoholic beverages, tobacco, vapor products or marijuana items—although there is no cap on the total purchase amount.  WLWT
