- ➤ Hamilton is teaming with Habitat for Humanity to build seven affordable homes on former city lots in the Jefferson neighborhood—applications are due Aug. 1 and an informational session is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday at Jefferson Park as part of the Build Back the Block initiative. Journal-News
- ➤ Veteran Companion Animal Services, started in 2013, helps veterans by matching them with rescue dogs and covering first-year costs so they do not worry about food, vet bills or medicine. The nonprofit is expanding into Greater Cincinnati and seeks foster families and volunteers to help prepare complete care packages+ support veterans. WLWT
- ➤ Authorities increased security at the Tire Discounters Festival in Sycamore Township in response to recent disturbances at local events, adding more patrol officers, a command center near the entrance + officers at every park entry to help manage the crowd.
