ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • At 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, Butler County firefighters used a rope system and a 35-foot ladder to descend a 50-foot drop near Timberhill Metropark in Fairfield Township to rescue two juveniles from a creek, and they were taken to the hospital.  WCPO

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Shangri-La Cannabis Dispensary celebrated its opening on West 8th Street in Price Hill as the Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce hosted the event and shared plans to open three more stores in Hamilton, Butler and Franklin counties later this year—The chain already runs four stores in Ohio.  Local 12 News

CRIME NEWS

  • On Wednesday afternoon, Hamilton County deputies arrived at Burns and Washington avenues in Wyoming and found that 15-year-old Jaymir Hill was fatally shot during a brief altercation—neighbors tried to help until medics arrived—police are now searching for the suspects.  WLWT

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Faith leaders and local lawmakers called for the release of Ayman Soliman, a chaplain at Cincinnati Children's Hospital who was detained at Butler County Jail after checking in with ICE on Wednesday. Soliman, who was granted asylum in 2018 and had a 9 a.m. appointment, is raising concerns among community leaders — they say his detention undermines trust in our legal process.  WLWT
