ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A crash on Nunner Road at 9:30 a.m. Friday caused heavy car damage that closed the road at Indian Wells Drive in Hamilton Township—police say alternate routes are advised and reported injuries remain unconfirmed.  WLWT

CRIME NEWS

  • Colerain Township man Glenn McCrackin allegedly fired an AR-15-style weapon through his Grosvenor Drive apartment floor into the ceiling of a unit housing three children, with a judge setting a $40,000 bond and barring him from having a firearm while his case continues—his attorney said the discharge happened accidentally during routine maintenance and the prosecutor noted the shot put the children at risk.  Local 12 News

  • Local mom Jonisa Cook lost her 6-year-old son Joshua when he drowned after wandering away from their West Chester home — her grief has led her to push for a new alert system for autistic children. State Representative Cecil Thomas has introduced a bill named for Joshua — the proposal has already received bipartisan support.  Local 12 News

HEALTH NEWS

  • Jail officials now give addiction medication to 200 inmates at the Hamilton County Justice Center so that they can start recovery (about 500 need the treatment). They recently received nearly $250,000 from the Attorney General to support long-term recovery programs in the jail.  WCPO
