ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A person died in a single-vehicle crash Monday in Oxford Township when the car rolled over on Morning Sun Road near Buckley Road and two people were injured; one was taken to the hospital via Care Flight and the coroner later identified Robert Sparks (41) of Middletown as the victim.  WLWT

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Meijer recalled packages of Frederik's Dark Chocolate Almonds (sell-by dates May 7 and May 28) due to undeclared dark chocolate-covered cashews that may cause allergic reactions; customers in Hamilton are advised to stop using the product and return it to any Meijer store for a full refund.  Local 12 News

CRIME NEWS

  • Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich held a press conference Tuesday at 2 p.m.—she announced the review findings of the officer-involved shooting that killed 18-year-old Ryan Hinton on May 1 near Warsaw Avenue in East Price Hill—and the Hinton family held a follow-up press conference at 3 p.m. to address the results.  WLWT

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Southwest Ohio Air Quality Agency will begin testing five stacks at a Fairfield plant after Lindenwald residents complained about aluminum trihydrate particles settling on homes, cars, and pools. Samples will go to the Hamilton County Crime Lab for analysis — earlier tests led the company to repair a scrubber and city officials plan a health survey to address concerns.  Journal-News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Hamilton County Commissioners warned Tuesday that House Bill 335 would cut local revenue from rising property values by eliminating inside millage—creating a 16.1% operating budget gap that could force layoffs in police and fire services. Loveland City Schools and other local agencies face significant losses, and state lawmakers will hold an invite-only hearing today to discuss the bill's future.  WCPO
  • A 19-year-old Cincinnati Public Schools graduate detained by ICE was no longer listed as in custody at Butler County Jail Tuesday morning—family members reported he might have been moved after protests outside the jail. He was arrested earlier this month following a denied asylum claim in 2023.  WLWT
