- ➤ A 7-year-old autistic girl drowned Friday after officers responded to a missing child report at Lakota Lake Apartments in West Chester Twp.—the Butler County Coroner’s Office identified her as Mardasia Forte—when she was found in a retention pond on Lakeside Drive. Journal-News

- ➤ Local residents met at Benninghofen Park on Monday to raise concerns about particle pollution from a nearby aluminum plant. The Southwest Ohio Air Quality Agency said that USALCO (in Fairfield) submitted a plan on June 3 and will test five stacks (end July/early August) to reduce the fallout affecting homes, cars, and pools.
