ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Wednesday afternoon, deputies and medical personnel responded to a Morgan Township pool after a 6-year-old did not return to the surface with snorkeling gear—his mother pulled him from the water and began CPR before he was airlifted to Cincinnati Children's where he was pronounced dead.  WCPO

CRIME NEWS

  • Federal authorities arrested Robert Gilb—50 of Green Township—after he allegedly set off three improvised explosive devices in Hamilton and Butler counties during March and April.  FOX 19 Now
  • A 53-year-old man, Greg Peters of Amelia, was arrested on June 7 in West Chester Township after he allegedly lured two women into Daisy’s Massage on Beckett Center Drive, held them at gunpoint, and committed sexual assaults—he is now held on a $500,000 bond.  FOX 19 Now
  • A Mt. Healthy man, Tandi Tamang, was indicted on June 11 after being accused of kidnapping a girl under 13 and raping her in Trenton; her father and a witness discovered the incident and he is now held on a $500,000 bond.  Local 12 News
  • Antonio 'El Diablo' Riano faced trial in Butler County Common Pleas Court for the 2004 murder of Benjamin Becarra outside a Hamilton bar—he spent nearly 20 years as a fugitive before being captured in Mexico and now faces 18 years to life if convicted.  FOX 19 Now

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • A redevelopment project for the historic Shuler & Benninghofen Mill in Hamilton received $3.5 million in tax credits and will transform the 132-year-old building into 125 apartments and 7,000 square feet of commercial space. The developer plans to add over 200 parking spaces and a public park—financing is being secured to start construction this fall.  WCPO
