  • The Flightless Honor Flight program honored more than 60 veterans from World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War by offering a simulated flight experience that recreated an airport gate—complete with boarding passes and cherry blossom decor—to show them the welcome they never received due to their inability to fly.  Local 12 News
  • Nearly 200 protestors gathered outside Butler County Jail at 6:00 p.m. Sunday to demand the release of 19-year-old detainee Emerson Colindres—booked by ICE after his mother said he went to an immigration meeting for an ankle monitor. The peaceful protest featured multiple speakers and ended with marchers moving down Hanover Street.  FOX 19 Now

CRIME NEWS

  • Protest erupted outside Butler County Jail after ICE agents detained 19-year-old Emerson Colindres, a Cincinnati high school graduate in the Intensive Supervision Appearance Program who was told to report to an immigration facility in Blue Ash with his mother and faces deportation to Honduras—demonstrators, including Cincinnati Galaxy supporters, demanded his release and launched a GoFundMe to cover his legal expenses.  Local 12 News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Today, family members and faith leaders gathered at the historic Green Township Jewish cemetery to rededicate the sacred ground after vandals knocked over 176 headstones last June — police and the FBI continue to investigate the incident.  WLWT

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced nearly $60 million in state funding to clean up hazardous sites and redevelop abandoned properties. Part of the plan—highlighting a $2.5 million demolition of the 32 acre former Towne Mall site in Middletown and a $2.18 million cleanup of the Hamilton site—aims to remove environmental hazards and create new jobs.  Local 12 News

  • Cardiac surgeons at UC Health successfully implanted Ohio's first fully tissue-engineered tricuspid valve in an adult patient. The new valve lowers risks and the need for lifelong blood thinners by using the patient's own tissue—offering longer-lasting results.  WLWT
