  • Greg Bisdorf died in his sleep on Sunday morning while he was in Indianapolis planning to watch the Indianapolis 500; his loss is deeply felt in Hamilton where he worked at Kivac in Lindenwald, volunteered with 17Strong, and contributed to local events like Corn Stand Jam and RiversEdge summer concerts—he was known as a quiet servant leader who always lifted others' spirits. A ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on June 8 at Municipal Brew Works—if weather forces a change, it will move to Hamilton City Hall, and a GoFundMe will support his legacy projects and cover funeral expenses.  Journal-News

CRIME NEWS

  • Michael Burch pleaded guilty in court to setting his house on fire and dousing his girlfriend with gasoline—he faces a prison term ranging from 54 to 59 years and will be sentenced on July 16.  WLWT

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Ross Schools Superintendent Rice said his first year focused on building trust with staff, students and local families through Community Conversations—efforts that have guided key changes in the district. He announced the district will launch a new ELA program for younger grades next school year while addressing concerns over rising local funding burdens as state support decreases.  Journal-News

  • Butler County police agencies received $500,000 in state grant money to support body worn camera programs that help convict criminals and improve transparency. The new funding will cover expenses such as extra cameras, maintenance, and staff costs for departments in Hamilton, Miami University, and other areas—ensuring the programs run smoothly.  WCPO
  • Butler County police departments received $483,929 in state grant funds to support their body camera programs used in traffic stops and investigations. The funding gives the Sheriff’s Office $141,409 to add extra cameras for public safety and help convict criminals.  Journal-News
