Here's your local news at a glance for Tuesday, the 20th of May.
Good morning, Hamilton.
Hamilton County Coroner Dr. Lakshmi Sammarco said the autopsy of 18-year-old Ryan Hinton, killed in a police shooting on May 1 in East Price Hill, found he had three gunshot wounds (including a fatal wound beneath his left armpit and not a chest shot as earlier reported) that explain his death.
MetroParks and Hamilton Parks Conservancy are using 22 goats on loan from Treeyo Permaculture at Miami Woods to remove invasive species like honeysuckle and multiflora rose over the next six weeks—local residents can watch the goats and attend a meet and greet on May 21 from 6—8 p.m.
Great Parks will begin installing new signage next month at prime park entrances starting with Embshoff Woods and including Winton Woods, Sharon Woods and Miami Whitewater Forest; the nearly $2.5 million project was slowed by permitting in 13 jurisdictions — the first phase is expected to be complete by October — reflecting the new acorn logo and Find Your Wild slogan.
