  • Residents in Greater Cincinnati are working to help southeast Kentucky, about two hours away, recover from severe storms that killed at least 18 people and damaged homes—Red Cross officials are urging monetary donations and volunteers to support the relief efforts.  WLWT

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Butler Tech placed the final beam for its new $15M 28,000-square-foot aviation hangar at Middletown Regional Airport—finishing the facility's framework. The project will expand the aviation program from 50 to about 200 students when it opens next year.  Local 12 News

HEALTH NEWS

  • Officials in Butler County reported that overdose deaths and suicides are rising, with overdose deaths projected to increase from 88 in 2024 to 120 and suicides expected to reach 62 while veteran losses could rise sharply. A new mental health levy approved last November will generate about $6.6 million next year for expanding services—officials warn that potential federal funding cuts may impact this support.  Journal-News
