- ➤ Hamilton County Veterans Service Commission opened its new office on March 2 at Hamilton County Central Campus at 1701 Patricia McCollum Way in Bond Hill. Executive Director Glenn Welling said the location (with about 1,000 free parking spots) aims to serve more veterans and boost engagement toward a 90% reach by 2030. WCPO
- ➤ Local commuters may cut gas costs and ease traffic by joining a vanpool program promoted by the OKI Regional Council of Governments; groups of five or more receive $800 monthly to cover Enterprise van rentals (any extra cost is shared) as companies work to launch additional pools soon. - ➤ Yesterday, Ohio SNAP users had to unlock their EBT cards before online and out-of-state purchases to secure SNAP funds, according to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS). Cardholders may unlock cards online, by app or phone, and set a period up to 90 minutes. Local 12 News
- ➤ Christian Brummett, interim executive director of Majestic Care Middletown (6898 Hamilton Middletown Road), asked Monroe city council Tuesday night to lower the facility’s water rate since it pays $20.26 per 1,000 gallons versus $14.25. The center caring for 240 residents is facing rising costs from repairs and leaks. Journal-News
