- ➤ Easterseals Redwood will hold its annual Express event Friday at Turfway Park starting at 6 p.m. to raise funds for disability support and community inclusion — organizers say the night will feature a silent disco, live and silent auctions, and a Savannah Bananas raffle. WLWT
- ➤ Residents across Butler County are asked to place non-perishable food items in or near their mailboxes on Saturday, May 9 as part of the national Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, which is sponsored by local letter carriers (supporting county food banks). Journal-News
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Paul George STEM Center of Lakota Robotics 1038 in West Chester Twp grew from about 60 to more than 90 students during the 2025-2026 school year and will expand grade 2-12 robotics programs this summer & fall, including doubling its Lego Robotics camp enrollment from 35 to around 75. - ➤ Voters in several Greater Cincinnati districts turned down five of six school levies on May 5, leaving only the Mount Healthy levy to pass. In response, Fairfield City School District plans $4.5 million in cuts ahead of next school year + may consider future ballot issues if funding remains inadequate. WLWT
- ➤ Madeira High School freshman Hunter Swafford overcame his speech disorder with years of therapy and effort to deliver a solo performance during his school choir concert, moving his family and peers (who cheered him on). His inspiring journey boosted his self-confidence during the event. WLWT

- ➤ Fuel prices have risen and local transit agencies are seeing more riders today. Butler County RTA reports a 10% boost on longer routes while Metro notes a small rise on express lines. WVXU
- ➤ Ohio voters approved 12 of 14 library levies on Tuesday to sustain current library services amid a $25 million budget shortfall. Lawmakers shifted funding away from local libraries, a change that could influence services in communities including Hamilton. WVXU
