- ➤ The Lakota school board will meet at 6 p.m. May 4 at Lakota East Freshman School to consider closing older schools and adjusting the Master Facilities Plan (proposed changes to ease crowding and update aging facilities). Officials are reviewing funding options that could combine a voter-approved bond with state support. Journal-News
- ➤ Southwest Local School District canceled classes early Thursday and school Friday after beloved teacher and coach Steve Coffman suffered a medical emergency and died during class. The district will keep its building open today for students and staff to gather (counseling available from 9 a.m. to noon). WLWT
- ➤ Forest Hills School District selected Suzanna Davis as the new superintendent, with the Board voting Tuesday, May 5; she will begin on Aug. 1 after replacing Larry Hook (final day July 31). WVXU
