- ➤ Luxury furniture store Zaanwood opened at Liberty Center in Liberty Twp with a soft opening on April 7 and will hold a grand opening with a ribbon cutting on May 28—owner Sara Mansour said her modern Parisian design was inspired by her New York upbringing. - ➤ A 29-year-old woman from West Chester was arrested after allegedly firing her red Chevrolet Malibu during a physical altercation on Winton Road near Andover Road (4:53 p.m. Sunday), and police charged her with three counts of felonious assault while no injuries were reported. Local 12 News
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ At least eight of Butler County’s 10 public school districts have signed the federal DEI ban — including Lakota, Middletown, Fairfield, Madison, Edgewood, Ross, Monroe and Talawanda schools — to comply with new federal rules and avoid losing funds. Officials in Hamilton and New Miami did not comment, while Dayton Public Schools have stated they will not sign the order. WCPO
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ State Route 126 will have overnight lane restrictions from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. nightly until May 2 for bridge deck patching, and at 9 p.m. on May 2, the ramp from Galbraith Road to eastbound S.R. 126 will close for concrete repairs through 6 a.m. on May 4. Traffic will detour (via the Hamilton Avenue ramp) as the $3.8 million project is scheduled to be completed in November. Local 12 News
