- ➤ 7 Brew Coffee will open its new drive-thru stand on Hamilton’s west side at 1412 Main St. in Hamilton Meadows shopping center on Monday, May 18; the site will use two ordering lanes and hire about 75 employees earning between $18 & $20 an hour. Journal-News
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ In 1878, grave robbers stole John Scott Harrison's body from his North Bend tomb, sparking outrage that led Ohio to pass the Anatomy Law in 1881 (ending grave robbing in the area). WVXU
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Sixteen high school students from Colerain and Northwest tested their physical fitness by taking part in the Guardian Games on Thursday, April 23 in Colerain Township. The event simulated firefighter and police fitness courses and earned an award for citizen participation. Local 12 News
- ➤ Hamilton High School senior Branson Gabbard will receive his high school diploma & Miami University undergraduate degree next month as part of the Early College Academy that gives local students free college credits. He plans to pursue a master’s degree at Ohio State University in the fall. Journal-News

- ➤ Liberty Twp. trustees rejected an increase of 23,675 sqft of commercial space at Freedom Pointe near the Costco on Cox Road north of Liberty Way because the developer’s vision was too vague — parts of the project, including a car wash and apartments, will proceed. Journal-News
