  • Residents in the Beekman Corridor use a monthly community market to access fresh produce and learn healthy cooking skills from volunteer chef Theresa Thomas—an effort that fills the gap left by missing grocery stores.   • Drew’s on the River reopened Saturday after floodwaters reached the roof and left three inches of sludge—owner Ron Schmidt said volunteers and long work hours helped clear the mess in five days.  FOX 19 Now

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Miami University regional campuses plan to add a polytechnic program that will offer applied learning and work-based training to meet local workforce needs in southwest Ohio in the coming years. Officials said the new program will build historic partnerships with local industries, high schools, and government (all while current students continue in their existing degree paths).  Journal-News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Great Parks of Hamilton County announced that all parks will offer free admission on Tuesday to celebrate Earth Day. Visitors will not need to purchase a pass to visit popular sites such as Winton Woods (Woodland Mound, Miami Whitewater Forest) as part of the park system's nine community days.  Local 12 News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Butler County plans to use nearly $11M in federal funds over the next five years to boost home ownership and improve neighborhoods in areas with low income and moderate income. The county approved $1.26M for Community Development Block Grant projects and $746,960 in HOME funds for housing down payment help (a plan shaped by stakeholder interviews and surveys) to keep homes stable.  Journal-News
