  • Cousins Sagar & Mit Patel reopened Noonan’s Party Supply at 1350 Main St. and already added new tobacco products, with a lottery machine available since April 12, while planning layout upgrades, beer caves and extended Sunday hours in the coming months.  Journal-News
  • Local restaurant Gina’s Italian Kitchen and Tavern was named Best of Butler County 2026 for Best Family Restaurant, Best Hidden Gem Restaurant, and Best Italian Food. Owner Gina Isgro (born and raised locally) uses family recipes (from her aunt and uncle) to serve Italian dishes that keep customers coming back.  Journal-News

  • Hamilton celebrates its paper-making roots with the three-day Unfolded art festival. Immersive paper installations will be featured along High and Main streets from today to Saturday — the event honors local heritage while showcasing sustainable art.  WVXU

  • A probate court judge will fill a vacancy on the Little Miami School Board after Dan Smith resigned amid offensive social media posts; applications are accepted until 4 p.m. on April 22 (applicants must be district residents, registered voters, and at least 18).  WLWT

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A major stretch of I-75 south will close Friday night through Monday morning for demolition work on the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor project near Hamilton. Motorists should allow extra time + follow detour signs during the closure.  FOX 19 Now
  • Ohio officials will permanently ban synthetic kratom starting in May after an emergency order signed last December. The rule comes after testimony from families affected by the drug, while the Pharmacy Board reviews a potential ban on natural kratom.  Local 12 News

  • Developers behind the $50 million hotel conversion of the historic Mueller Building won a key tax incentive after Hamilton City Council approved a Community Reinvestment Area with a 15-year, 100% property tax abatement.
