ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A house fire on Jessup Road in Green Township forced three people out just after 4 a.m. Monday—everyone, including their pets, escaped safely—and firefighters quickly put out the flames—while investigators began looking into the cause.  WLWT

CRIME NEWS

  • Green Township police are investigating an alleged fight at Oak Hills High School that left a student in the hospital after a classmate repeatedly punched him on the left side of his head when his pants were pulled down in front of others (he was diagnosed with a concussion) and the school has issued a stay-away order for the alleged attacker (police will decide on charges).  WLWT

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Miami Township Fire Department is facing more closures and layoffs if a new levy fails to pass in two weeks as it rotates its three stations to cut overtime costs & protect current staff. The township will hold an informational meeting on Saturday, April 26, at 10 a.m. at its administration building on Shady Lane in North Bend.  Local 12 News
  • Butler County is moving forward with a new $34.9 million sheriff’s dispatch and coroner’s office/morgue complex as part of its space reutilization plan—designed to consolidate services and update county facilities. County commissioners have set aside $45 million for the project and will soon go out to bid while monitoring costs amid a volatile tariff situation—adjusting plans as needed.  Journal-News
