- ➤ Edgewater Sports Park had its race track covered in silt from floodwaters from the Great Miami River, and owner Rob Weinle got help from local volunteers and companies who brought a water truck+pressure washers to clean the track. He said more volunteers are expected today so races can resume next weekend. Local 12 News
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A boy was hit by a car in a Hamilton residential neighborhood on Saturday at around 3 p.m.—he was taken by helicopter to a local hospital and his injuries remain unknown. WLWT
- ➤ A child in Hamilton was struck by a vehicle Saturday afternoon and airlifted to hospital; officials said the incident happened (at the intersection of Minster Street and Baxter Avenue) just after 2:45 p.m. and that the child was transported (by a medical helicopter) with injury details not yet provided. WCPO
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ At around 8:39 a.m. on Saturday, firefighters in Miami Township responded to a loud explosion on East Miami River Road that set off a homemade explosive device in a wooded area near Cincinnati—prompting Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI to launch an investigation and advising residents to steer clear of the scene. Local 12 News
- ➤ Taeler Bennett, 29—along with her children, 2-year-old Rio and 5-month-old Kiylan—died after a hit-and-run incident while crossing a street in Sarasota on Feb. 10; the 72-year-old driver, June Fenton, who left the scene after thinking she hit a dog, was arrested on March 3 and is out on bond, and family held a vigil on McKinley Avenue in Hamilton to remember them.
