COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Vision Nonprofit will soon start its (Ohio 30) initiative to give free iPad Pro kits to 30 visually impaired kids in West Chester and nearby counties. The nonprofit, founded by the Hintz family, aims to bridge the digital gap and boost learning with easy tech.  WLWT
  • The Jain Center of Cincinnati and Dayton in Liberty Twp. will begin a two-phase expansion by building a new white marble temple in the next 12–18 months. The current facility will be converted to a youth center as the community grows.  Journal-News
  • The 513 Relief Bus is hosting Youth Employment Day today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Jerriel Missionary Baptist Church on 1018 Wesley Avenue to help teens get summer jobs, work permits and physicals plus access about 1,300 job opportunities in arts, trades and entrepreneurship.  WCPO
  • A local educational nonprofit will host its second annual Market in the Woods today at Imago’s Nature Preserve on Enright Avenue from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; the fundraiser features over 20 vendors and a multi-family yard sale to support its programs.  Local 12 News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Miami University has moved up five places in its gaming design program ranking and now ranks No. 5 on the Princeton Review’s Midwest list while also placing 24th internationally. The Butler County school shows strong growth in game education (a boost for Ohio’s tech talent).  Journal-News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Anderson Township residents report that cracks on Elstun Road have worsened — making travel unsafe as county engineers and Duke Energy review repair plans. Officials expect a fix costing over $2 million to be completed by the end of the construction season.  WCPO
  • Cincinnati Metro will start a two-year, $6.5M project to replace 3,700 signs, add new shelters and benches, and install digital signs that show bus arrival times across Hamilton County. The work will continue over the next two years.  Local 12 News
