  • On May 4, a Star Wars movie night will be held at Marcum Park at 116 Dayton Street with 'The Empire Strikes Back' set to play and plans for a cosplay contest, light saber battles, and trivia. Food trucks, a beer stand, and a silent auction at The Strauss Gallery will add to the event's fun atmosphere—organizers emphasize it is family friendly.  Journal-News

  • Former Butler County auditor Roger Reynolds, whose one corruption charge was later overturned, plans to return to local politics by running for county auditor or county commissioner — he said disputes with Sheriff Richard Jones and Attorney General Dave Yost led to his legal battles. Reynolds claims lawfare was used against him in efforts to end his political career.  FOX 19 Now
  • Hamilton County commissioners declared a State of Emergency to mobilize resources amid widespread flooding from heavy rain. The Ohio River (peaking at 60.79 feet overnight) is forecast to drop to minor flood stage in Cincinnati on Thursday and return to action stage by Friday morning (as water levels gradually recede).  WLWT
  • Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine announced his support for a bill that will ban cell phones during school hours in every school in the state. Senate Bill 158, sponsored by Sen. Jane Timken from Jackson Township, would allow exceptions—aiming to reduce student distractions and potential harms from excessive screen time.  WLWT
  • Bilstein Boulevard bridge in Fairfield reopened for traffic after a nine‐month closure for a $2.4 million project that replaced the deck, repaired abutments and steel beams—bringing back a route used by local schools and businesses. Dan Snyder, Hamilton’s senior civil engineer, said crews will complete painting in May and June—while flaggers guide traffic for safety as trains pass nearby.  Journal-News
