  • Residents returning to flood-affected homes are advised by the Red Cross to inspect properties for hazards like downed power lines and to wear protective clothing—rubber boots, long pants, and gloves—before entering. They should document damage for insurance purposes and dispose of items that cannot be properly cleaned to prevent mold growth.  Local 12 News
  • Two Hamilton nonprofit CEOs earned state-wide honors when Bramer of the Great Miami Valley YMCA was named CEO of the Year in mid-March and John of the Boys & Girls Clubs received a similar award in early April.   • The Hamilton County Prosecutor's Office held a press conference announcing that no charges will be filed against the Lockland officer who fatally shot 48-year-old Samuel Mumyarutete on I-75 in Evendale on March 19—while an internal investigation continues to review department policies as his family claims he was an innocent bystander.  WLWT
  • Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich will hold a news conference at noon Monday to share the review results of the fatal police shooting on northbound I-75 in Evendale, where a Lockland officer shot 48-year-old Samuel Mumyarutete on March 19 during a chase for a stolen car—BCI is still investigating and authorities are speaking with his family.  FOX 19 Now

  • Rivers in Hamilton crested last weekend with peak levels causing flooding near levees and park closures — city officials say the upgraded stormwater system kept damage low — as water is expected to drop slowly over the next few days. The National Weather Service warned that showers and possible thunderstorms will occur Wednesday and Thursday.  Journal-News

  • Gov. Mike DeWine said state lawmakers should rethink funding for Help Me Grow—a program that gives home visits to moms and newborns—after the latest budget proposal cuts over $22.5 million from it for fiscal year 2027. House Finance committee members will review the proposal in hearings this week before a full vote on Wednesday.  WVXU
