- ➤ Thom Brennaman returns to Cincinnati airwaves as he will replace Mike McConnell on the 700WLW morning show, with McConnell’s final broadcast happening today after a 45‑year career. Brennaman, who resigned five years ago amid controversy, has apologized for his past remarks—he will begin his new role following McConnell’s departure. Journal-News

- ➤ On Thursday morning, several school districts delayed or closed classes as severe storms caused power outages and debris blocked roads, leaving about 47,000 customers without power—crews continue to work on restoring service. WLWT

- ➤ Aaron Habig from the Hamilton County Conservation District said heavy rains expected this week may cause landslides on hills in Hamilton County due to unstable glacial deposits (loose colluvium from shale breakdown). He advised property owners to remove shallow-rooted vegetation and use downspouts to divert water away (property insurance does not cover landslide damage). WVXU
- ➤ Heavy rain will bring a flood threat into the weekend as rainfall is expected to total 3—6 inches with some spots getting over 7 inches. The Ohio River reaches its Action Stage of 40 feet today while the Little and Great Miami Rivers rise into flood stage later, putting low areas at risk. WLWT

- ➤ House Bill 203—Aspen’s Law—would increase penalties for distracted driving in school zones after Aspen Runnels was fatally struck while crossing near Lakota East High School in May 2024. In December, the driver who hit Aspen received 30 days in jail, house arrest, and probation, and the bill is now in the Ohio State House Judiciary Committee. WCPO
