CRIME NEWS

  • Roger Glenn Gray, a convicted Indiana felon from Aurora, was sentenced in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court to 3 to 4½ years in prison for defrauding 14 residents of over $105,000 in home improvement scams under the business name All Around Concrete—he must also pay restitution to his victims.  Local 12 News

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Federal tariffs now affect local companies in manufacturing, food and farming as they face higher supply costs and must adjust prices and plans for future work. Some developers and producers like Cleveland-Cliffs support the move—while others worry about rising construction costs and supply chain delays.  Journal-News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Strong thunderstorms are moving through the Cincinnati region today and have already left more than 33,000 people without power as of 1 a.m. A tornado watch is in effect while Duke Energy advises residents to prepare for a potential extended outage.  WLWT

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Hamilton County’s America 250-Ohio Committee will plan events in 2026 to mark the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence—an effort to honor our nation’s founding values. The program will feature local celebrations that build on diversity and unity—core ideas our community supports.  The Enquirer
  • Hamilton officials said summer road work will begin with lane restrictions on Millville Avenue until April 11 and new asphalt after school in a $6 million project that should finish by summer’s end. The city will also install a $1.6 million traffic calming bump-out on Ross Road, adjust NW Washington Boulevard with a road diet, launch phase 4 of the Hamilton Beltline Recreational Trail funded by ODOT, & complete concrete repairs on nearly a dozen roads later this year and in 2025.  Journal-News
