ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Hamilton County recorded eight fire-related deaths in 2026 + below the usual annual average of 11 as local fire departments educate residents on fire prevention and Cincinnati Fire Chief Frank C. McKinley discussed possible causes on Cincinnati Edition today.  WVXU

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Day & Ross USA will lay off 100 workers at its Hamilton site at 3560 Symmes Road effective May 30. The company said the cuts will affect drivers, dock workers & supervisors after a contract change shifted business elsewhere.  WCPO

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A proposed federal bill may expand food delivery to homebound seniors who currently receive nearly 500 monthly boxes from local food banks in areas like Butler County (which could benefit up to 30,000 eligible Ohioans). The bill now awaits review in the Senate committee.  WVXU

HEALTH NEWS

  • Hamilton County's medical director warns that allergy season is in full swing and recommends starting daily anti-histamines (Claritin, Zyrtec, or Allegra) to prevent symptoms. He advises keeping windows closed and limiting outdoor time to reduce pollen exposure.  WVXU
