CRIME NEWS

  • Early Wednesday morning, the Hamilton County coroner identified Samuel Mumyarutete, 48, as the man fatally shot by a Lockland police officer during a multi-county chase along I-75 that began at 2:45 a.m. when a license-plate reader flagged his stolen vehicle and after a failed taser attempt he ignored commands while on foot near milepost 14, prompting the officer to fire.  WLWT
  • Police shot and killed 48-year-old Samuel Mumyarutete in Evendale early Wednesday after a stolen car chase began in West Chester and ended when he ignored commands on I-75, prompting an officer to use a Taser before firing— the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is investigating the incident.  Local 12 News
  • A former Ross High School student was taken into custody Wednesday after two students reported receiving disturbing and threatening messages that included pictures of firearms—he now faces a terroristic threats charge as a third-degree felony and is in Juvenile Detention Center.  WLWT
