  • Sharon Lake reopened Thursday after a $17 million upgrade that expanded wetlands, added boardwalks, an accessible kayak launch and improved trails, plus new benches, parking and rainwater management areas. Rentals will be offered this summer with a temporary boathouse while fishing is off-limits for three years to let fish repopulate.  FOX 19 Now
  • Aglamesis Bros. is hosting a neighborhood scavenger hunt throughout March in Hamilton — residents can join to search local streets for hidden clues.  FOX 19 Now

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Local bars and breweries removed hemp-infused THC drinks by Thursday night ahead of a statewide ban taking effect today, as owners warn that the law will hit sales hard while advocates say it makes buying safer & tightens controls.  FOX 19 Now

CULTURE NEWS

  • Hamilton City Council approved making StreetSpark the official public art project, with a measure set to be read on March 25 and voted on April 8; launched in 2016, the program has added murals at key sites and will soon display summer designs (with the Fitton Center overseeing safety standards).  Journal-News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Seton High School is hosting an oral history project that records war stories from local heroes to honor their service and educate students. The project will run this week (schedule pending) and invite community members to engage with firsthand accounts.  FOX 19 Now

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Hemp beverage makers, including Fifty West Brewing Company, are challenging the state's ban on intoxicating hemp products before a ruling from the Ohio Supreme Court reverses Gov. Mike DeWine's veto + the ban takes effect at midnight today, forcing businesses to shift sales to less restrictive markets.  WLWT
  • Garver Family Farm Market in Lemon Twp. (located at 6790 Hamilton Lebanon Road) won its appeal Tuesday to keep its agricultural zoning from the Butler County Board of Zoning Appeals, supporting its ongoing operations and local farming traditions.  Journal-News
