  • Freestore Foodbank is facing significant budget cuts after a USDA program was cut last week—losing $2 million in funds that paid local farmers for produce. The foodbank will seek alternative funding or adjust its hours while funds remain until September—measures that may limit the meals available to local families.  FOX 19 Now

BUSINESS NEWS

  • LocalMotive owners Dustin and Devan Ward will launch a free ride-hailing service on Hamilton streets starting in the second quarter — the service will use Polaris vehicles to transport up to five passengers on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and during RiversEdge Thursday evening concerts and special events. City Council’s approved low-interest loan helped secure the vehicles — the business will begin with a flag-down system on a designated downtown loop and use local advertising on the vehicles and an interactive app for event information.  Journal-News

  • At about 2:45 a.m. today, a man died when an officer fired during a vehicle pursuit that started in Butler County and ended with a crash near Glendale Milford Rd. and Evendale Dr.—police from neighboring jurisdictions are investigating the incident.  WCPO

  • Hamilton County Public Health released a report showing overdose deaths dropped 31% to 270 in 2024—marking the third straight year of decline. Commissioner Denise Driehaus said the Hamilton County Addiction Response Coalition had released its annual report Tuesday morning detailing new steps to curb the crisis.  The Enquirer
