COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Sharon Lake reopens on Thursday, Mar. 19 at 11 a.m. after a ribbon-cutting ceremony following major improvements that added new boardwalks, wetlands, an accessible kayak launch, trail upgrades, and additional parking. A new boathouse will open later this year (managed by Great Parks) as part of a separate revitalization effort.  Local 12 News

CULTURE NEWS

  • RiversEdge Amphitheater in Hamilton has announced its 2026 concert series lineup, which will kick off on May 21 and run through September. The schedule features tribute bands and local artists, including The Landsharks, set to mark the unofficial start of summer on the Thursday before Memorial Day weekend.  Journal-News
  • Hamilton residents celebrated St. Patrick’s Day at Riverfront Plaza during the O'Dora Dash fun run on Tuesday, March 17 (with Tina Vrabel and Carrie Anderson running and dancing), which brought festive energy to local community members.  Journal-News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Butler Tech opened its new $15M Aviation Center at Middletown Regional Airport Monday with a ribbon-cutting. The center, funded by Butler Tech, county commissioners, JobsOhio and the city, will train high school students in aviation maintenance, flight and aerospace engineering and plans to expand class sizes next year.  Journal-News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Officials from the Ohio Division of Wildlife reported that 13 dead coyotes were dumped off Gallia Drive in Miami Township last week and suspect they were shot before being left; the investigation continues (with concerns over potential poisoning of pets).  WLWT

  • Costco recalled its Meatloaf with Mashed Yukon Potatoes and Glaze (Item #30783) sold between March 2 and March 13 due to a potential salmonella issue, and local consumers were advised to return the product for a full refund. No illnesses were reported.  Local 12 News

  • FC Cincinnati forward Kevin Denkey lost control of his Lamborghini near Kennedy Avenue on I-71 early Monday morning due to heavy rain—he was checked by doctors and will play Thursday as scheduled.  WLWT
