BUSINESS NEWS

  • Early Berds Cafe & Coffee will open Friday, Mar. 13 at 202 N. 3rd St. in Hamilton, serving American breakfast options and a European café vibe. It will operate weekdays (6 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and weekends (7 a.m. to 2 p.m.).  Journal-News
  • Wawa is opening two new stores this month. The Liberty Township location at 4260 Hamilton-Middletown Road will open at 8 a.m. on March 12 and the Lebanon location at 296 Kingview Drive will open at 8 a.m. on March 26.  WLWT

EDUCATION NEWS

  • State Representative Gayle Manning and Hamilton County’s Mike Odioso introduced House Bill 715 to require the Ohio Department of Education to post annual data for private schools receiving EdChoice vouchers—this measure lets taxpayers compare student performance in private and nearby public schools as the program faces legal challenges.  WLWT
  • Hamilton City Schools will add therapy dogs to most school buildings next school year (2026–2027) after receiving a grant from the Hamilton Community Foundation announced Saturday at the fourth annual Hamilton Neighborhoods Summit. The program builds on earlier successes to offer additional emotional support for students and staff.  Journal-News
  • In Oxford, Perry and Sallie Gibson fought to have their Black children attend the new public school in 1887 despite local resistance. Their legal win, affirmed by the Ohio Supreme Court, helped integrate the school — a reminder of local perseverance in education.  Journal-News

  • The Bengals did not tender a contract to quarterback Jake Browning on Monday, Mar. 9, leaving him as an unrestricted free agent. The team remains open to re-signing him after he served as a backup for Joe Burrow.  FOX 19 Now
