- ➤ One of Greater Cincinnati's largest pet adoption events will happen this weekend at Spooky Nook Sports in Hamilton. More than 20 animal shelters will bring hundreds of cats and dogs, and tickets cost $5 (children under 5 enter free). WLWT
- ➤ Rev. Jesse Jackson passed away Tuesday, leaving a legacy of civil rights and community advocacy that touched Hamilton. Hamilton County Commissioner Alicia Reese recalled his visits to local schools and community centers (a lasting impact that inspires hope). FOX 19 Now
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Ohio Department of Agriculture issued a statewide quarantine for spotted lanternfly that took effect Feb. 17 covering 18 counties; plants and trees now must be inspected before shipping to protect vineyards and wineries (which support a sector worth over $6 billion annually). WLWT
- ➤ West Chester Township is updating Beckett Park based on a resident survey favoring trails, a playground, and pickleball courts. The revised plans add eight east side courts and extra parking while moving the playground to the quieter west side, with final designs set for completion this fall. Journal-News
- ➤ Butler County's disabilities board faces a fiscal crisis and will cut local support services, including day programs, starting April 1. Voters will decide on a levy in May that could save these services for families and workers like the local ASL teacher + leader who depends on them. WCPO
